The Bowl of Brooklands

A stage on a lake, a hillside for a grandstand: one of the world's great natural amphitheatres, in the heart of New Plymouth.

Built by the community, for the community

Taranaki's most iconic concert venue

The Bowl of Brooklands sits within Pukekura Park and was constructed by the community, for the community, back in 1957. A large bowl-shaped valley containing a lake was transformed into one of the world's most recognised natural amphitheatres.

Today it is a unique venue: an impressive outdoor sound stage over the lake, a large grass amphitheatre and public amenities, all wrapped in native bush.

Located in the heart of New Plymouth, it can be reached on foot from numerous park entrances, with vehicle access via Brooklands Road and ample off-street parking at the Racecourse on Coronation Avenue.
